3 yearsI got a call from a guy saying he was from Barclays fraud team, telling me there'd been some dodgy transactions on my card in Aberdeen - something about £150 at John Lewis and then something else at Tesco up there. Thing is, I’m down in Surrey, nowhere near Aberdeen. He wanted me to log into my account to check if the payments went through, but there was nothing on there. Then he tried to persuade me to get an activation code so he could supposedly cancel my card and send me a new one. When he was asking for my info at the start, he’d give bits like my postcode or DOB and ask me to fill in the rest. I didn’t trust it and ended the call. He’s called back a few times since then. I learnt the hard way last time when I didn’t realise it was a scam and entered the activation code, giving him access to my account - thankfully, there wasn’t much money to steal.
