Got one of those classic HMRC tax debt scams, but as soon as I told them I’m a detective inspector with the Met Police, they dropped the call quick sharp! Really can’t get my head round how a number flagged for scams is still active and not blocked yet.

Got a call to my mum’s house from someone saying she’d won some lottery. They wanted her full name, address, and NI number. They told her to ring 0018447289200 and ask for Eric Goulding. I knew it was dodgy, so I called them back and asked for something in writing. They just hung up straight away. Sorted that quick enough.

They rang me twice - first time I told them the company name and they just cut off. Then about 10 minutes later, someone else called asking for the company director to do some survey, as soon as I said he was out they just hung up straight away.

This number keeps calling my phone over and over. I’ve reported it to my provider using 7726 and blocked it on my device, but these idiots just won’t stop ringing. Honestly, they must be a bit mad or really desperate to hook someone for a scam lol. Here are the dates they’ve called me so far: 27th April 2023, 7th July 2023, 20th July 2023, 26th July 2023, 22nd August 2023, 23rd August 2023, and 10th November 2023. I’m actually thinking of getting a whistle and blowing it down the phone if they bother me again 😅😂

I got a call from a woman with a foreign accent asking if I’d be willing to do surveys now and then. She started asking for my date of birth, which I didn’t want to share, and where I lived. I just said somewhere in the south of England. Then she quizzed me if that meant Lancashire, Yorkshire or Essex! After that, she just hung up without any actual survey questions. I’ve now blocked this number.

What hobbies do you have? Are you married? Kids? Have you visited France and why?" Sounds like she’s running surveys but it felt like a scam to get personal details or even rip people off. Could even be a threat to our country’s security.

I received a sales call regarding the decarbonisation of fleet vehicles, but the caller seemed completely oblivious to my clear statement that we don’t possess any trucks. A man with an Asian accent called saying I’d been picked for a heart foundation survey. He claimed it was from a private number and said I didn’t take cold calls. He kept calling me madam and said the survey would benefit both others and me. I told him I wasn’t ready to chat. He asked if he could ring back at a better time. I told him not to bother as I wasn’t falling for any scam. He kept insisting it was legit and not a scam. I told him it’s my number and I decide who I talk to, then ended the call. I've had several calls from this number. They claimed to be conducting a survey for the EU related to transport - not the same as what others have mentioned. They began to pry into my age and postcode, and when I asked for further clarification about their identity and the purpose of the survey, suddenly they said the connection was terrible and suggested ringing me back later. I reckon I’ll just block this one.

Got a call from some survey place asking about my use of power tools. I went through the usual stuff - how often I use them, what brand I like, whether they’re cordless or not. Got another rogue call, nothing on the other end so blocked the number again. Seriously, when is Ofcom gonna step in? Feels like they’re just watching and doing nothing. This hassle just keeps growing.

Got a call claiming to be from CBBC asking if I wanted to do a survey about my experience. Told them no and ended the call. Then reported it like someone mentioned in another comment here.

Even tho my Samsung warned me with Hiya saying it might be a scam, I picked up the call but there was just silence and no one said anything. After checking this number on here and a few other sites, I’ve decided to block it so it won’t ring me again!

I received a call today from +44 20 3285 6425 at precisely 2:15 PM. My phone was in another room, so I missed it. When I tried to return the call, it just kept ringing with no answer.

It came across like a robot, but she was merely reading straight off a script. Claimed they were conducting some research for MMU, but when I pressed her, she couldn't properly explain what the research was about or the reason behind it. Told her to send me an email with the details and to ring me back later. Never got an email, but had loads of calls afterwards which I just ignored and eventually blocked.

This number has called me at least 20 times over the past two days! It starts early in the morning and doesn’t stop until around 9pm! I’ve had enough, so it’s blocked now!!!

They claimed to be calling from the University of Manchester, but the number definitely wasn’t from around here. When I asked what the call was about, they got really rude and insisted on speaking to the finance director. I told them we don’t pass on phone surveys to that department, and they snapped back saying that since I wasn’t in finance (they had zero clue which department I was in), I wouldn’t get what the call was really about. Didn’t bother putting them through.
