Yesterday, my mum got tricked by some bloke who said he was Kevin from Microsoft after a message showed up on our computer asking us to ring this number. When she called, they somehow managed to get into her computer and ended up charging her credit cards to buy gift cards from several shops. It’s awful, she fell for a pretty nasty scam where they had full control over her PC. Seriously, don’t pick up if this number rings you or call it back!

Today my computer suddenly played a recorded voice and showed a warning claiming Microsoft had found a threat, urging me to ring their tech support at 020 3239 8710. It seemed fishy straight away, so I decided to check the number using another gadget. Turns out, it's nothing to do with Microsoft at all. I also got a mate who's proper knowledgeable about these things to take a peek, and they reckoned it’s actually a pretty clever scam. My advice? Don’t press any links, steer clear of that phone number, and make sure you run a virus check right away.

I got a pop-up on my laptop saying I had a trojan virus and to call 02032398710 to fix it. They made me check all sorts of Windows stuff and then wanted me to approve a payment to keep going. I told them to call back later when my partner was around. Definitely a dodgy scam. Watch out and don’t share any details with them.

I received a message pop-up claiming I needed to call a specific number or risk ruining my computer. When I rang the number, they attempted to gain access to my device and immediately launched into a sales pitch. Once I declined their offer, they seemed intent on keeping me on the line; it felt suspicious, as if their real agenda was to install keystroke tracking software to snoop into my personal accounts. Be wary of these types of scams!

I received a rather alarming alert on my laptop, accompanied by an intrusive voice demanding that I should not switch off my device, insisting that it had been compromised by a pornographic trojan. They even took control of my screen and attempted to persuade me to purchase their anti-trojan software for a whopping £149. To top it all off, they claimed my McAfee protection was inadequate. I’d advise everyone to be cautious!
