I received a rather alarming phone call where the individual on the line claimed they were from the Government and had an urgent matter to discuss with me! The accent was quite foreign, and I really struggled to decipher what they were saying. I had to insist on being transferred to a supervisor, which was only marginally clearer. They rang again, asserting they were from a company called Blue Skies, supposedly operating under a Greendeal initiative for the Government. To my astonishment, they flatly refused to disclose their phone number, despite it being displayed on my caller ID. They were incredibly evasive and dodged my questions at every turn. It’s absolutely absurd that these sorts of calls can even take place. I contribute my fair share of taxes; why am I not afforded better protection against such intrusive disturbances?

Got a call from some bloke named Gary about loft insulation, kept dodging giving his full details and refused to give a number to call back. Very fishy!

Got a pesky call today from someone who asked if I’m the homeowner. I told them no even though I actually am, then they just hung up on me. They said their name was Antony, but they didn’t sound local at all.

This lot totally disregard the TPS list. Honestly, the best thing you can do is just not answer if you see their number, but if you do, don’t bother chatting - just end the call straight away.

First thing they said was that they were ringing from the Government and it was really urgent I spoke to them!

The callers sounded foreign and I had to be transferred to a supervisor because I could barely understand a word they said. That was just slightly clearer.

They then mentioned they were with Blue Skies, apparently working under some Green Deal scheme, still claiming to be from the Government.

They refused flat out to give their phone number, even though it clearly showed up on my caller ID.

Proper dodgy behaviour.

Honestly, it’s frustrating that calls like this keep happening. I’m a taxpayer, so where’s the safeguard protecting me from these kinds of things?
