I received a call purporting to be from Royal Mail, and they had my name. They said, "We've got a parcel waiting for you. Would you like guidance on how to collect it?" Then they asked for my email address. I replied, "I’m not so sure about this, it sounds like a scam to me." They hung up immediately.

I've been approached by a Russian woman requesting my email or bank information so she can sort out the delivery of a mysterious package. Quite a peculiar situation, isn’t it?

I've had a similar experience to what others have reported; they contacted me claiming there was a parcel waiting and asked for a payment of £1.55. At first, I didn't pick up on the fact that it was a scam, so I ended up providing them with my email address. Shortly after, I received an alarmingly authentic-looking email that appeared to be from Royal Mail. It directed me to a dodgy website at https://royalmail.com.ref.nr5276.online/ where they were after my payment information in a rather insecure manner. It's quite unsettling how believable these scams can be!

I think I've stumbled upon a dodgy situation! Someone claiming to be a scammer advised them just to hang onto the parcel since there was no indication of who sent it. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Just like others have mentioned, the caller claimed to be from the Post Office saying there was a parcel waiting for me. I told them I wasn’t expecting anything and didn’t want to book a pickup, then I hung up.

WATCH OUT, THIS SEEMS LIKE A SCAM I got a call from 0203 239 5358, and an Indian lady said she was ringing from Royal Mail. She told me they had a small parcel for me, but there was a £1.55 postage shortfall I needed to pay before they could deliver it. I told her I wasn’t expecting any parcels, and if it was genuine, she should send it to a local post office so I could pick it up and sort the extra cost in person. When I asked where she’d found my number, she claimed the retailer had given it to them. I asked straight up if it was a scam, and she insisted it wasn’t. She wanted to send me some kind of payment receipt by text or email, thinking I was probably sitting at my computer ready to pay straight away. But when I asked her to text it to me, she just cut off the call. No message has come through yet, anyway!

Got a call about a package supposedly for me in London but they said it had short postage. I told them to just send it to the nearest post office and I'd cover the extra fee and pick it up there, like how Royal Mail usually does it. Then, they just ended the call on me.

Today this number called me saying they had a parcel waiting at the local depot and asked if I wanted it delivered. I told them no thanks, usually they just drop parcels off without calling first. After that, the person just ended the call straight away!
