12 yearsReceived a call from 0203 239 4123 - one of my clients had a rather alarming interaction with someone from this number. The caller, with a noticeable Indian accent, was purportedly from HMRC. He claimed that my client was in arrears of £670 regarding something called the Lifetime Security Tax (which, by the way, doesn't even exist). He ominously asserted that there were two outstanding warrants for her arrest and threatened that failure to pay instantly would lead to her being taken into custody. In an understandably stressed state, she made the payment. Shortly thereafter, they contacted her again, asserting it was actually £680 that was owed. Once more, she paid up, under the impression they’d rectify the prior amount. The situation escalated with a third call demanding an additional £440 in interest on this supposed overdue tax. This time, fortunately, she held her ground and refused. Let’s make it clear: - HMRC cannot issue arrest warrants. - They never request payment over the phone. - Official HMRC contact numbers are always withheld. - The Lifetime Security Tax? It’s a complete fabrication. Be cautious, folks! Insist they provide any information in writing and consult your accountant before proceeding with any payments!HMRC12 yearsI just got a call from this number, and it was utterly alarming! They demanded I fork out £570 for some supposed tax fee, claiming that if I didn’t wire them the cash, I'd be facing arrest by the police within a couple of hours. They even had the nerve to ask for my personal banking details. What a load of rubbish!12 yearsBe wary of sharing your personal details with them; it appears they’re up to no good trying to swipe your information. I rang the genuine HMRC helpline, and they were completely in the dark about that specific number.HMRC12 yearsI just got the very same call as well.12 yearsHello, I've noticed that this number supposedly belongs to HMRG Costumes.
