Received a call from 02031 988079, which is a tad different from the number mentioned above. I’ve got an answering machine, but immediately recognised it as a scam when I saw the 02031 code pop up on my Caller ID. Back on the 28th and 29th of April 2014, I was inundated with calls from other 02031 numbers. I keep an extensive record of all dodgy phone numbers, you see. After the callers heard my rather cheeky message designed to irk telemarketers, the recording indicated: “The other person has hung up.” Result! Mission accomplished, but I am bracing myself for a few more calls before they might finally take the hint!
