A man who said he was Michael from Domestic & General rang up my wife. He mentioned our washer/dryer maintenance policy was up for renewal and offered a three-year plan at £195. Since I wasn’t around, she told him I handle that stuff. Later, I contacted Domestic & General myself and they said they hadn’t made the call and it was a scam. The next day, Michael rang again, and during the conversation it was clear he knew quite a bit about me and the maintenance plan, which really worried me about where he got all that info. I turned down his offer.

These idiots ring me every week, saying I have some sort of policy with them for my appliances. I asked them straight up for the brand and model of the items they supposedly cover, but they just couldn’t provide any details. I then told them they were breaking the law by phoning me since I’m on the TPS list. The guy, who sounded like a complete muppet, claimed I had to re-register every six months to stay on the TPS. When I called him out as a scammer, he got all hostile and rude. OFCOM really needs to step up and start cracking down on these dodgy calls.

Got a call from someone saying they were with an insurance firm asking about a policy for my washing machine. When I said I didn’t have any policy like that, they just hung up straight away.

Got a call from 02031908785, some Asian woman saying she’s from the insurance dept asking about my appliances. When I asked which one, she rattled off washing machine, fridge, and cooker all together. I told her I don't recall ever taking out insurance on all three at once. Honestly, I’ve never had appliance insurance and never will - it’s just cheaper to grab another machine second-hand from Facebook or eBay. Pretty sure this was a total scam, so don’t fall for it or pay anything.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from Domestic & General Home Insurance, asking about my appliances. I told him I hadn’t got any policy with them, but he kept insisting I did. So I just ended the call and decided to report it here. Pretty clear it was a dodgy scam attempt.

Got a call from a lady with a thick Indian accent, something about "Home Appliance Insurance" was mentioned but it was really hard to catch everything she was saying. Pretty sure it was one of those scams. She tried to impress me by rattling off my exact address, which was kinda creepy. I cut her off straight away, told her I don't do cold calls, and nicely asked to be taken off their list before ending the call. Thankfully, I was able to block the number so they won’t bother me again, definitely seems like they’re behind loads of scam calls.

Got a ring from someone called 'Robert Garnier' pushing insurance for home appliances. When I asked him simple stuff about the brands of the products (which should be on the policy), he said something like 'I’m not an engineer' and couldn’t answer. I mentioned I’d checked the number online and knew it was dodgy, then he started dodging my questions. I told him to get lost with a few choice words, and when he wished me a good day, I wasn’t shy to say I hoped his day went nowhere nice.

Dodgy Caller - The number 020 3190 8785 might be legit. Looking into Ofcom's data, it says numbers beginning with 0203190 belong to TG Support Limited. But keep in mind, if the number was switched to another provider, that info isn’t out in the open. The last update Ofcom made about this number series was back in July 2006.

Got a phone call from someone claiming to be the Manager at "Domestic Insurance" about our washing machine insurance. He mentioned the old name of our house that was changed about 20 years back. He also said we hadn’t filed any claims in the past year. When I asked if we actually had a policy with them, he insisted we did (which we don’t). But as soon as I asked for the policy number, he just ended the call. Pretty obvious it’s a scam.

Told him I don't have any warranty adviser and asked where he got my number from. He got all shifty and wouldn't say much about which appliances he meant. I just ended up blocking him.
