Got a call about some extended warranty for my washing machine, but it’s nearly a decade old and has never had any warranty before. I just told them “sounds like a scam to me!” and they dropped the call straight away. Didn’t even bother arguing.

At about 11 in the morning on 24th May 2021, I picked up a call from this number. There was silence right after I picked up, then after a few seconds, a woman’s voice, which sounded like a recording, just said "Bye" before hanging up. A few days before that, I missed a call from the same number while I was out, so I didn’t answer. I’m pretty sure this number has rung me a few times before too.

Got a call that showed Leeds on the screen, but the number wasn’t actually from there. A woman said she was ringing about a washing machine warranty for an old house, something from like eight years ago. When I asked which company, she said KAC - which sounded totally made up. I told her to quit trying to scam folks and then I just hung up.

Somebody rang me asking "Is this N... C...?" and knowing it’s never a good idea to reply "Yes," I told them, "You’ve called me, so you should know who I am." They hung up straight away. The number is from a BT line, and since this number’s been linked to dodgy calls before, I’m wondering why BT hasn’t taken any action against the owner. Why are these scammers allowed to keep going without any consequences? On top of that, I had to deal with that frustrating captcha thing just to leave this comment.
