I declined once more, and that’s when he abruptly ended the call. I redialed, and once again, they answered as HMRC. When I requested clarification, he had the audacity to ask if I was deaf! I couldn’t help but chuckle, calling them out as scammers. I inquired about his name, and he said it was Eric. When I again requested his badge number, he made a crude remark about my mother. I decided to check with my mum to see if she recognised an Eric or if he had contacted her.
