If a legit company is doing telemarketing, and you get rude with them, they legally have to block you to protect their workers. So just chill and give them a proper earful if you want. I’ve shouted every insult I can think of down the phone, and most of the time the calls stop either right away or after a call or two. Even those ones where you have to press 5 to talk to someone, if you give them plenty of grief it usually does the trick. If it doesn’t, they’re probably operating illegally, so best to just ignore them completely!

I picked up the phone and it was some call centre asking if I’d had enough of those PPI calls. They already had my name and address and asked about my mortgage, then wanted my date of birth. I said no way to giving that over, even though they insisted it was for Data Protection. They told me they couldn’t send the claim form without it, but I stuck to my guns. The guy kept pushing for it but eventually gave up. Just another typical, irritating PPI scam.
