Got a call from someone saying they were HMRC, telling me I had unpaid taxes. The voice sounded Indian (no offence, just stating what I heard). They quickly moved onto these vague threats about being jailed or fined if I didn’t settle up through some "out of court" deal. They also said I’d need a "criminal lawyer" to safeguard myself. Seems really dodgy to me, I’m pretty sure it’s not legit. Normally, I’d mark it as DANGEROUS straight away, but held off just to double-check. I’m going to contact HMRC directly and will update here if it turns out I was wrong.
