The number popped up on my mobile quite clearly as being from Egypt. Same old story as others mentioned here - some slow-speaking American guy pretending to be from HMRC. I just got rid of the message and blocked the caller straight away. If it was legit HMRC, they’d contact me by letter!

Just got a call about 10.03 this morning from a number with a + sign in front. It was a recorded message saying some HMRC officer urgently needed to reach me and that I should ring back straight away or else there’d be consequences. The voice was really slow, which made me suspicious enough to look up the number online. Honestly, it freaked me out at first, but then I remembered HMRC always contacts you through letters, never phone calls. I’m gonna block the number and just ignore it. Definitely not a legit call.

Some woman kept calling and was really pushy, saying I had to pay HMRC £3,000 immediately or the cops would be sent round. She insisted on getting the money by phone right away.

Received a couple of calls today pretending to be from HMRC, but the bloke had the funniest American accent, sounded so legit. Honestly, best thing is to just put the phone down and not bother!

I got a call on the 4th of October, and even tho it was automated, it came off as pretty intimidating. Said it was from HMRE or something and that it was urgent. I think it could've scared an older person living alone. I didn’t ring back! The call came from abroad, but they left a 0203 number to get in touch with.

Today, I got a call from this number and it went straight to my answerphone. The person spoke in a weird, strange tone claiming to be from the HMSO and said I had to ring back or else they’d take some kind of action against me. Felt like a proper scam if you ask me, but I can see how older folks might get really worried about it.

Had loads of calls from this number, they even left messages saying HMRC needed to speak with me.
It’s definitely a scam though, when I rang back and questioned them, they just claimed someone who owes money gave them my number by mistake.

I got a call today saying if I didn't pay £3000 to HMRC right away, they’d freeze my bank account, take my passport and the police would show up at my house. It sounded proper dodgy so I looked up the number on the internet. Then I asked the caller to ring me back, and he promised he would. Weirdly, the next call came from a real HMRC number. Definitely felt like a scam though.

Got a call from a recorded voice claiming to be hmrc saying i must call back right away coz it's urgent. If it was really important, why wouldnt someone just call me properly instead of a machine? I didnt bother calling back and just blocked the number straight away.

Just got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC saying I owed them money. Had a proper row with the bloke and he pretty much confessed to doing nothing illegal. Absolute scumbags, honestly.

I got a call from some double glazing firm. I told them I wasn’t interested, asked them not to call me again, and to take my number off their list.

This number has rung me about five times within the past hour. I didn't pick up since I have call blocking set up. No voicemail was left either. It’s really irritating, especially when I’m in the middle of cooking tea.
