A random company rang me up saying they need to give me some money back, but I have no clue what it's about. Then they asked if I could let them control my computer through TeamViewer to sort it out. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Had a call from someone claiming to be with TalkTalk. I checked if they really were from TalkTalk, and they said yes. When I asked for the number to check, it showed as 02031296482 on my screen. Then I asked for her name, and she said something that sounded like Alan. I asked her to spell it out, but she just hung up on me.

Got a call from someone saying there was some sort of "unauthorised activity" on our internet and that they would cut us off if we didn't sort it. They said they were from BT, but we don’t actually use BT, we’re with a different provider. When we tried to ask what exactly was going on and why they were threatening to disconnect us, the caller just kept repeating the same line and then got annoyed, asking why we kept asking questions. Pretty clear it was a dodgy scam, and honestly, not even a very clever one.

Somebody called saying they were Geoffrey Jones and claimed my router was hacked! They knew my name, where I live, and even that I’m a BT customer. Then they tried to convince me to let them "fix" my computer. Made me suspicious straight away!

They kept insisting I was from BT, but I told them I wasn’t. Then, without warning, they just cut me off pretty rudely. Not a great experience at all.

Got a call from a woman with an accent, claiming to be from BT. She said my emails were hacked and told me to let her into my computer to fix it. Seemed dodgy, especially since I wasn’t even sure if BT was my internet provider - figured most people might just assume it’s BT anyway. Definitely a scam, so I didn’t engage.
