They just keep calling, but the moment I pick up, they hang up straight away. I don’t even bother anymore, I just block them now. Different numbers but the same area code - proper pain in the neck.

Someone rang me saying they were from o2 and had a discount for me. They seemed to know loads about my o2 account but wanted me to answer my security question. They could tell me my email but oddly couldn't say my name or where I lived, so I just ended the call. I phoned o2 directly afterwards and they said it definitely wasn’t them.

Got a voicemail on my answer machine just yesterday from a woman who said her name was Helen Grey or maybe Graham, this was the second time she called in just two days. She said she was ringing from HMRC and left a number to call back right away. She warned that if we don’t call, the police could be involved. This is definitely not from HMRC - from what I know, the Civil Service always sends letters if there's any issue or question about tax stuff.

This number has called me like 4 times already, I never dialled it and have now blocked it. I got in touch with the police and they told me to just block the number and not answer if it rings again. You'd think they’d ask for the number to look into it, but nope. If it’s someone elderly or living alone, they could be in real danger. Do NOT ring them back, it’s definitely a scam and has nothing to do with HMRC. Stay safe and let others know!

This number has rung me twice now with the same sort of message as others have mentioned. I called back the number on my caller ID, not the one on the voicemail. The bloke answered and said it was HMRC. When I asked how I could be sure it wasn’t a scam, he asked if I’d been asked for my postal details. Then he wanted to know who my solicitor was, and I told him I didn’t have one. After that, he said his bit was done and just hung up. Got the exact same voicemail today and honestly, my experience matches what others have said here. I am seriously fed up with this. They said it was "officer Heather Grey" and asked me to ring the "hotline" 0203 129 6397? Surely HMRC would send letters first before making these menacing calls?
