Users who have contacted HMRC confirm it is fraudulent, with scammers attempting to extract personal details by impersonating officials. Authorities advise ignoring these calls, not returning them, and reporting incidents to Action Fraud. Telephone providers are urged to block the number, as repeated calls and messages have caused significant upset and concern among recipients.

This number is definitely dodgy, I've had my phone company block it for me.

Got a robo call saying I had to ring back before they send solicitors after me. Don’t bother calling, any real legal stuff would come by official letter, not some automated message. Total scam, just block it!

My elderly neighbour has been plagued by a number of these calls lately, and it's left her quite shaken. It's absolutely appalling that these con artists are able to target our seniors like this.

I've received calls from this number in the past, so I decided to reach out to HMRC for clarification. They confirmed that it was indeed a scam and advised me to disregard any such communications, as HMRC never approaches individuals in this way. Just the other day, I got another call from this same number, warning me not to overlook their message, claiming that failure to respond could result in legal proceedings against me for an alleged debt. Naturally, I've chosen to ignore it, but I'm wondering if there's a way to put an end to these nuisance calls?

I noticed that quite a few folks have received a similar message. Initially, it raised my eyebrows, but luckily I took the time to consult a couple of phone number verification platforms beforehand. Turns out, it’s a widespread scam linked to HMRC; interestingly, my message didn't explicitly mention the HMRC, yet it still bore all the hallmarks of the others. Best to avoid calling back.

I received a call stating it was of a legal nature and urgent, advising me to return the call or face potential legal repercussions. Let's be honest, if this were legitimate, they’d send a letter, wouldn't they? Just best to ignore it and block the number.

We received a call from this number and when we tried to return the call, we were met with nothing but a voicemail. It’s a bit worrisome, as they mentioned something about potential legal action.

My mum got a similar call this week. The message didn't actually mention it was from HMRC, yet everything else, right down to the 'please be cautious', was identical, and it genuinely frightened her when another message warned her not to disregard it. Luckily, she had the presence of mind to contact the police. I highly recommend reporting this to Action Fraud, which is managed by the City Police. It's a vile scam, and given how long it's been occurring, it's clear that someone is making money out of it.

Got a voicemail from this number so I rang it back. Some bloke with an accent answered saying it was the "HMRC helpline" and asked how he could assist. I told him I didn’t think I was actually dealing with HMRC, and he went off on me, swearing and calling me names. Definitely don’t give these scammers any details, it’s all a con.

I had a call from this number, and they claimed to be from HMRC. They went on about involving the police, potential court proceedings, and even mentioned freezing my bank account. It was quite alarming for anyone to receive such a threatening message.

I've received the same automated nonsense for the second time this week, prattling on about 'time sensitive' matters and wishing me a 'lovely day'. Honestly, these fraudulent calls ought to be outlawed by the telecom providers as soon as they're flagged - and it’s shocking how many complaints are linked to this number already! They can be quite alarming, particularly for the elderly, who might find these charlatans distressing. It’s high time these individuals found something more worthwhile to do with their time, rather than pestering genuine people and creating unnecessary worry!

I returned the call, only for him to hang up straight away when I started probing into his inquiries. He was keen to know if I had legal representation, stating that HMRC was preparing to take legal action over some outstanding taxes. The fact that he referred to a ‘lawyer’ instead of a ‘solicitor’ set off a few alarms in my mind. I really wish I had perused these reviews prior to engaging!

I received a rather amusing automated call recently. I decided to return the call to the number that rang me, and a chap with a distinctly foreign accent picked up, claiming to represent the HMRC helpline. I expressed my scepticism about their authenticity, and to my surprise, he responded with, "Then why the bloody hell are you calling us back, you b**ch!" It definitely gave me a chuckle, but I fear that others might not be as wary and could end up divulging personal details. I've taken the precaution of reporting this to Action Fraud.

I acted like an old lady when they called, and then they started threatening me with court for fraud unless I got a lawyer within an hour. I told them I couldn’t afford a solicitor because I’ve no money for that. They then offered for me to pay the debt right there on the phone. After that, I told them I wasn’t really old and called them scammers. They just hung up on me. It’s shocking they get away with this kind of thing. 22272272

I just received a rather alarming phone call, and it appears to be some sort of legal threat. I’ve asked my solicitor to ring back promptly, as it’s quite urgent. An older gentleman picked up the phone on my end, and he seems to be quite distressed and anxious about the whole situation. Can anyone shed light on who these individuals might be?

At my age of 78, I must say that the message I received truly unsettled me. I was quite relieved to discover that I could trace the number and find that many others have encountered similar issues.

I received an automated message claiming to be from HMRC, warning me about potential legal repercussions. Strangely, they didn’t mention anyone by name.

I got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, telling me to ring them back because I'd supposedly committed an offence and it was urgent. But honestly, if it were really HMRC and a genuine offence, they wouldn't just give you a heads up over the phone. Usually, they send a letter first and only if it's really serious would they come knocking in person without warning.

I got an alarming call from this number earlier today. It was a rather unsettling automated message from a woman claiming to be with HM Revenue and Customs. She urged me to ring back immediately at 02031206181, threatening that I risk facing serious actions if I didn’t respond. Quite concerning, to say the least!

Received a call flashing as International on my phone. Given that we have relatives abroad, we picked up right away. It was a recorded message from a woman's voice. It was rather alarming, warning about potential legal action if we didn’t get in touch with a solicitor. They insisted on calling back at 02031296184 promptly. Truly unsettling experience! Why doesn’t BT take measures to block these sorts of numbers?

Its been nonstop, they kept ringing me all day even after I explained my husband had just passed away, really ill before. I asked them to stop calling because I was busy with family and friends trying to get back to messages I left. I even blocked a bunch of their numbers but they still kept at it. Proper annoying.

Loads of folks are getting calls from this 0203 number where the person claims to be from TalkTalk’s tech support, asking about your computer. Just a heads up, TalkTalk wouldn’t ring you from a number like this. It’s definitely scammers fishing for your details to pull off some sort of fraud. Stay sharp!

I picked up the phone, but the caller just ended the call right away.

Got a call but as soon as I picked up, they just ended it. I tried calling back to sort it out but my calls wouldn’t go through.
