On 4th December at precisely 3:53 PM, I received a rather alarming phone call from someone claiming that I had been involved in a car accident two years back. The thing is, my number is unlisted, and I’ve never had a car accident in my life! It struck me that either my information has been compromised, or this is simply a scam. On 4th December at 15:53, I received a call claiming that I’d been involved in a car accident two years prior. The odd thing is, I’m not even listed, and to top it off, I've never had an accident! We're meant to be ex-directory and usually both busy at work around this time, so if it was important someone we know, they'd ring our mobiles. Got a call from a man with a strong Asian accent, loads of noise in the background, and could barely make out what he was saying. He said he was from Aviva and mentioned something about me missing out on £3000 compensation because I hadn’t claimed after an accident in the past couple years. It all sounded a bit dodgy to me. Ended the call straight away and ignored his next three tries to ring back. Probably gonna keep an eye on my voicemail next time!
