About 30 minutes ago, I got a call on my landline from a man speaking with an Indian accent. He said he was from HM Revenue and Customs and that there was some kind of court case against me. I called back and some bloke with an Indian accent answered saying he was from "HM Revenue & Customs." I said I'd missed a call from this number, and he asked "Is that Anthony [something]?" I told him no, that’s not me. Then he just said "Wrong number then" and hung up. All this on a Saturday too! Pretty sure they’re just after money. Scam for sure.

I got a voicemail on my answerphone on Wednesday 6th Sept from someone saying they were Lisa Williams from H. M. Revenue & Customs with a really scary message. It freaked me out since I had only just come back from my holiday on Friday 8th, so I was stressed all weekend. I tried calling the number they gave, but it was busy every time. The callback number was 0161 354 7119, which doesn’t match what I’ve seen in other reviews. After checking up on Lisa Williams and reading your comments, I feel a bit better now. It’s not right that they can do this to people like that.

I got a rather alarming phone call, claiming I was in deep trouble over unpaid tax. They insisted it was my "final opportunity" to sort it out. Clearly, it's a scam and I'm certain they need to be put out of operation! I tried calling the number they provided from another line that I usually keep blocked, but I could hardly make sense of what the person on the other end was saying. About four days back, I received a rather alarming message on my voicemail, urging me to ring this particular number. The voice-an American woman-claimed to represent HMRC and warned me not to disregard the call. After several attempts, I finally got through, only to find myself speaking to a chap with an American accent who also said he was from HMRC. He inquired about my outstanding dues, to which I responded that I owed nothing at all. He then asked if I was speaking to Mr X, and when I clarified that I was not, he promptly ended the call. It’s quite unsettling, to say the least.

Got back from my holidays and found this creepy message waiting on my answerphone from this number. You’d think this counts as a threatening call, especially being left as a recording, right? I've been called thrice today by this particular number, and honestly, I didn't pick up since I'm not familiar with it. I tend to get a fair few calls from 020 numbers that don't ring a bell. Initially, I would answer these calls, only to find silence on the other end. Upon investigating some of those digits, it appeared many were flagged as scam calls, hence my reluctance to answer now. I keep my home number restricted to family and close friends, preferring to share my mobile number instead. This is precisely why I let unknown calls go unanswered. It's peculiar, though, that these callers seem much more interested in my landline than my mobile. What’s that all about?

A lady left a message saying I had a major legal case against me and that there’d be big consequences if I didn’t respond. At first I thought it was real, but after a moment I knew it was just a SCAM. I’ve reported it to "ACTION FRAUD". Honestly, it’s the most serious scam call I’ve come across.

Got a voicemail saying I’m being sued by HMRC & Customs and I have to call them back straight away. Don’t fall for it, it’s a total scam trying to rob you. They ask you to buy loads of iTunes vouchers and then ring them again with the codes to avoid court action. Once they have the vouchers, the money’s gone with no way to trace it, leaving you with a big loss and no help.
