Just like a few others have said, I kept getting loads of messages pretending to be from the Land Registry, saying I was in some sort of trouble legally. It was all really confusing and I had to keep leaving replies on the answerphone to try and sort out what was going on. Definitely seemed like a dodgy scam to me.

Listen, don’t send them any cash! I got so nervous after they told me I was about to be arrested, I even transferred money to them. Turns out, it’s all a load of rubbish. I rang the cops myself and they said there’s no warrant or anything on me. I’m fuming - honestly feel like going all the way to London and confronting those scammers. Terrible voicemail - kept getting calls all telling me to ring a solicitor immediately if I get the call. It finished with a creepy "look after yourself". Would a tax officer really end on that note if it was serious news?

They left this vague message, so I decided to ring back. They already had my phone number and address and wanted me to verify them.
