Got a voicemail from Lisa Williamson this time, using a different number 01226697940. It was all about some supposed lawsuit being taken out by HMRC. I’m sure my taxes are all sorted and paid up properly. This kind of call is just a nasty scam trying to scare people. Best bet is to just ignore it and let HMRC know about these dodgy messages. Really shady and threatening stuff.

Yeah, I got hit with the same thing others have mentioned. Someone named Lisa Williamson kept calling and mentioned some serious legal stuff, even talked about a lawsuit. From what I've seen in messages from others caught up in this, it’s been happening for over a month now. Seems like no one’s done anything to put a stop to these cheaters. :(

Got a voicemail saying I was under investigation by HMRC for something serious and if I didn’t ring back there’d be big problems. I’m retired, all my tax’s paid, and never heard a peep from the tax office before, so I just ignored it. These scammers really have to be put down - they’re preying on people who might be easily scared.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the tax office, saying I was under investigation for something very serious. It was just a recorded message, trying to scare whoever picked up the phone. Complete rubbish, totally a scam. It’s terrible because older folks might get really worried and stressed over nothing. They need to catch these idiots and take legal action for their lies, harassment and annoying behaviour. What I said back was polite but if someone was less calm, it could get ugly.

Today around half past twelve, I got this automated call claiming to be from customs and excise, saying I had to call a certain number because legal action was looming. Interestingly, about twenty minutes earlier, my in-laws had a similar call from customs and excise, telling them they must ring as well. It might be some kind of premium rate scam, not sure, but honestly this needs to be shut down.
