I've got calls from this number loads of times now, always saying they're from British Gas about my account. But the line has weird noises, the person sounds like they’ve got a funny accent, and they’re asking odd questions. Problem is, I don’t even use British Gas!

Over the past several months, my phone has been buzzing with calls from random unknown numbers. I’m pretty sure this started happening after I got scammed when purchasing cryptocurrency. Luckily, I managed to recover my funds, but I think the scammers got hold of my mobile number and sold it on to others like them. I’ve had this number for nearly three years and never had this kind of hassle before the scam. Most of the time, it’s just missed calls with no voicemail messages left.
