Got a call around 3:30pm today, the accent was a bit tricky to catch at first. Didn't give any details but he greeted me by my first name. Said he wanted to discuss my car finance deal. I told him to tell me where he’s getting his nonsense from because I don’t have any car finance at all. Then he asked if I knew someone he could speak to about their car finance. I just told him firmly but kindly, no thanks! Honestly, he’s not smart enough to be a real threat.

SCAM ALERT! Make sure you report every scam call or text straight to the police fraud system. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and visit the ‘police.uk’ website. Find the ‘report a phishing attempt’ section and carefully read all the info. Then, submit the details of the scam, including any web links or addresses involved. You can always tell it's a spam call when you pickup and there's a pause before anyone says hello. Feels like they’re waiting for you to say something first, which is how those robocall systems work, they call loads of numbers and wait to hear a greeting. So if you answer and for like two seconds no one speaks, it’s pretty much a scam.

Really persistent and a bit forceful. They say I can reclaim cash for repairs on my housing association, but I don’t even live in a council or housing association place.

Got another call on my phone from an 0203 (129 2478) number, but I didn't pick up since I didn't know who it was. This must be like the sixth time lately these calls keep coming in. I've blocked all the previous ones but they keep ringing with slightly different numbers each time. I've even reported a few to the ICO, but no luck so far. These annoying scammers just won't stop. The latest call was at 13.40 on 28/04/2022.

They mentioned that under some new government rules, 70% of your debt could be wiped. Then asked if I was having trouble paying any debts or gas and electric bills. Best to just ignore the call. If you want help with your debts, you'd usually reach out to the company yourself, not them ringing you out of the blue.

Their so-called High Street solicitors (the letters are clearly Photoshopped) are totally fake, especially this blond guy called Mark Bull. He'll come round asking for your bank details and photo ID. I got in touch with the legit housing disrepair service and they said they don’t work like this and advised me to report it to the police. This Mark Bull bloke trespassing is a con. He’s white, blond, slim, probably in his 50s, never shows any badge. Don’t fall for this dodgy scam!

They mentioned they were conducting checks for damp issues or pending repairs at my property and were supposedly sending over a questionnaire via WhatsApp. Naturally, I felt inclined to investigate the number, but all I could unearth was a connection to a rubbish removal firm based in Kingston. After giving them a ring back, I was met with a rather unusual recorded message promising to transfer me to the next available representative, yet it lacked the familiar tone I've encountered in previous dealings with customer service. Quite perplexing, if you ask me!
