5 yearsGot a call from a bloke with an Indian accent asking if the business owner was available. He claimed to be from British Gas and kept repeating the same questions over and over. Then, out of nowhere, he started trying to flirt and asked for my personal home phone number! About 10 minutes later, he called back and spoke to one of my workmates, who ended up hanging up on him after I’d warned her it was probably a scam.British Gas6 yearsGot a robo call pretending to be from HMRC, saying there's some fraud complaint and to hit 1 to talk to an agent. Total scam, don’t even think about it. I just ended the call and reported it straight to HMRC. Stay safe!HMRC7 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from Eon, but when I questioned them, they just ended the call. Total scam for sure.Eon7 yearsMost likely a scam, they claimed they were ringing from e.on.7 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were with Npower, telling me our deal was ending and if we didn't renew, the costs would go through the roof. Bit odd since we actually lock in our energy prices up to two years ahead from the market! Totally feels like a scam to me!!Npower7 yearsSome woman with a strong Indian accent called me, but the connection was terrible. She kept saying she was ringing from Eon about my energy contract needing renewal. I told her straight up I knew she was trying to scam me. She sounded annoyed and denied it all. I told her not to bother calling again as I don’t entertain scammers, then I ended the call. So far, no repeat calls.Eon7 yearsGot a call from an Indian bloke asking for the owner who isn’t home at the moment. He seemed alright, not rude or anything, just didn’t know where to go from there. I’ve decided to block the number anyway.India7 yearsThey've been ringing me every few days, it’s proper annoying. I decided to switch it up and asked where the bloke was right then. After a pause, they said “let me check”. I pressed them, like “surely you know where you actually are?” and they said something about a PO Box in Punjab. Got me curious, so I picked up a few Punjabi swear words from my mates at work and threw them back at the caller. Seemed to shut them up pretty quick. Total scam, for sure!Punjab7 yearsA guy with an Asian accent rang me, claiming to be from EDF. I told him I was with Eon instead. Then, about two minutes later, an Asian lady got in touch saying she was from Eon and that my electricity contract was ending soon. Oddly, the number was exactly the same as before. It’s definitely a scam! I told her if they call me once more, I’d have no choice but to report it.EDFEon7 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be from E-on, saying our contract was about to run out. I told her we don't deal with E-on at all. She then grilled me about who our supplier actually was, and when I refused to say it was anything to do with E-on, she started getting all argumentative. Turns out, she admitted she was just fishing for info and would probably call back pretending to be from whichever supplier I named next. I just found it a bit funny and kept laughing until she finally gave up and hung up. The connection was really bad and she had a pretty strong Indian accent.7 yearsGot a call from a guy with an Indian or Asian accent saying he was with British Gas and talking about my account.
