I said I worked at a law firm to get their attention - they ended up hanging up on me!

This is a scam for sure. They say there’s a lawsuit against me. Honestly, I’m kinda curious to find out who would even show up for that!

These crooks targeting old folks and those who can’t really defend themselves are disgusting. If you try calling me again, fingers crossed I’m not picking up, or else you’ll be hearing a whole lot from me that’ll bug you well into next year!

Same sort of experience as other folks, but heads up - I tapped on the number I found for who called me and the page was totally different! There were no category sections, just stars ratings that didn’t really explain anything. I ended up leaving a comment, assuming the site had changed its look. Just a warning to be careful!

Received a call claiming to be from HMRC regarding some legal action. The caller had a poor grasp of English and was quite unpleasant. They abruptly terminated the call when my wife mentioned she’d bring me on the line to chat with them. The number was 02030955362.

Just like everyone else has mentioned, I got a voice message too. The genuine HMRC tends to send correspondence via Royal Mail in situations like this. By the way, I'm a bit puzzled about the star ratings-do they indicate a high score for poor experiences or the opposite? That’s why I've refrained from giving a rating. And what’s happened to the categories? They seem to have disappeared!

We’ve got some nonsense from HMRC claiming a case against us. It’s absolute rubbish. They should really be embarrassed to even face honest folks. Just ignore it.

Hello there,
I've been inundated with calls from this number almost daily, claiming that the HMRC has initiated legal proceedings against me. It's rather concerning!

Got a call saying inland revenue is out to arrest me, which seemed odd. Just on Monday, I got my yearly statement from them and it said I owe just £2.20 by January end. Something about that call felt fishy, so I reckon it was prob a scam...

Indeed, it seems that HMRC has decided to pursue legal action against me. If you happen to use 1471 to identify the caller, BT will often let you know that there's typically a fee associated with that service.

Same story as everyone else, got a call from an automated voice saying HMRC are suing me. Obviously a dodgy scam, but my new landline phone is way too complicated to set up call blocking on, and good luck getting hold of Virgin Media to sort it out! If it had been a real person, I'd have scared them off with my personal alarm, but a recording is trickier. Didn’t press any buttons or share any info, just hung up straight away. They've called me four times over two days, really getting on my nerves.

These scammers call pretending to be from HMRC, trying to frighten you by saying you’ll be arrested for tax fraud. But the legit HMRC always sends a letter first if there’s anything important going on. Honestly, it’s all just a dodgy scam.

So I got a call from someone asking about a crash I supposedly had not long ago. I just guessed it was some scam and ended the call right away, though now I wish I’d stayed on. If they ring again, I reckon I’ll play along and try to chew up as much of their time as possible!

I'd say this is probably a scam call. Just be careful and keep an eye out for typical red flags like an Asian bloke using a very English name, pretending to have some deal for you, claiming to be from HMRC, a UK firm, or maybe an accident insurance outfit. Honestly, if they try to get you to pay even a tiny amount during the call, that's your biggest warning sign. Stay sharp!

My missus got a call from one of these dodgy robocalls, said she’d be nicked for some unpaid tax or whatever. This bloke sounds like a classic fraudster, probably doing it solo given the rubbish sound quality. You can always ring him back and throw him off his game. Or, you know, you could do what most do and just block the number, ignore the calls, and have a moan on the internet. But seriously, why not take some real action against these scammers today?

Got a recorded message saying it was from HMRC, telling me to press 1 to talk to an officer about some tax fraud case linked to me. I pressed 1 to hear the person on the other end, who then asked me to confirm my name. I didn’t give it, figured if it was genuine HMRC, they’d already know who I am. After I declined, the caller said they’d send my details to an officer with an arrest warrant. Surely HMRC wouldn’t operate like this, so it’s almost definitely a scam. Never share your personal info on calls like this!

Totally a rip-off. Legit HMRC in the UK never phones you directly. They ALWAYS get in touch through post or email first. This is just dodgy scammers, mostly from India, faking UK phone numbers to trick people. Just hang up straight away, don't hit 1 or anything. The numbers keep shifting every day but the scam they're running is the same tired old story. Avoid it completely.
