5 yearsI was expecting a call about a washing machine policy cancellation, with a £50 discount being offered. I’d told them I’d mull it over, so when they rang, I wasn’t too surprised. The caller said it was about appliance insurance and knew the discount I’d been quoted by D&G, which made me think it was legit. They kept saying the policy could only be set up on the phone, not in writing, and that they didn’t keep phone numbers on file - which felt off. I nearly gave my bank info, but when they said the transaction didn’t go through, alarm bells started ringing. Then, suddenly I was speaking to the caller’s manager, who wasn’t any more trustworthy. He said he’d verify himself by email if I gave him my address but also mentioned he wasn’t actually from D&G, just working for them somehow. That really raised my suspicions and before I knew it, he’d just hung up. I checked out the company name they gave, and it wasn’t familiar at all. I called D&G direct and they said they never ask for info over the phone and had no connection to that outfit. They confirmed I couldn’t renew my policy because I’d cancelled the bank order, which made me realise I’d nearly been caught out. Thankfully, after phoning the genuine D&G number, I was dealing with the real people at last.D & GD5 yearsI got a call looking for Mrs XXX. Since I’m Dr XXX, I told them they’d got the wrong person. They said “no problem” and seemed ready to end the call, but I mentioned it was the XXX residence. Then they said my first name, which threw me off, so I asked who it was. That’s when they just hung up. It felt like they had some info, so it wasn’t a total nuisance call, but their quick hang-up when I questioned them definitely made me wary.5 yearsThis number called me like 4 times in just one day, but I’m not picking up unless I find out who’s on the other end. Can someone tell me who it is?Submit Your Own Report (020 3079 2872)
