I receive no fewer than three calls daily from this number, all inquiring about a certain Mr Evans. It’s been relentless for several months now. My patience has worn thin, and I’ve taken to being rather rude during these calls, not caring if it’s a man or a woman on the other end. Yet, despite my outbursts, they continue to persist. On one occasion, I even inquired about their location and was told they were situated in Wembley-clearly a complete fabrication.

i got a call from this number the other day - forgot to check who it was straight away cause i was tied up. when i did answer there was silence for a bit then an asian lady started talking. thought it was some spam or selling stuff so i just ended the call and used 1471 to see the number details.

I answered the phone cuz I was waitin for someone, but I held off a bit and they just hung up. I don't pick up right away anymore 'cause of all the annoying robocalls. Now I listen for the accent - if it sounds Asian, I just end the call. Sometimes I do pick up, but when they ask for info, I tell 'em I need to fetch it and then leave the phone off the hook. It's a good way to waste their time and cash!

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming to be from some Telephone Preference thing, asking if I was still getting telemarketing calls. I told him yeah, and that he was one of the people doing it, then just said goodbye.

Got a call where they said they were from the TPS and asked me to verify my info, even mentioned my name and address. I told them straight I never share my details on the phone. They kept pushing, asking me to confirm again. I said firmly, "I’m not giving out any details over the phone, how many times do I have to say it?" Eventually, they gave up.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent asking for Mr Johnson, which I told him clearly he’d got the wrong person. He ended the call straight away. I tried calling back using 1471, but after a ring it just cut off, then a message said the number wasn't recognised. This is my elderly parents' phone, and they are signed up with the TPS. Tried reporting the call on their site but apparently they can't investigate scam calls. Feels like they might ring back at any time. It's obviously a scam, and this number should really be blocked.

Absolute silence. Dead air. Then they just cut the call.

This number rings us like 3 or 4 times daily. We have caller ID on a couple of phones, so whenever it shows as international, we just don’t pick up. But if I accidentally do, there’s usually no one on the line.

This particular number seems to be ringing us quite frequently-I'd say around three or four times daily, if not more. We’re fortunate enough to have caller ID on a couple of our devices, so whenever we spot an international caller, we simply let it ring. However, on the odd occasion that we inadvertently answer, we’re met with nothing but silence on the other end. How bizarre!

Called by an Indian lady claiming to be from Telephone Preference Management. She had all my details like my full name, address and phone number, so I told her the address was wrong and the phone number didn’t match, then gave her a fake address. She kept going on about the phone number being wrong and she got completely baffled. Gave me a good 5 minutes of distraction from work! They really reckon we’re daft, don’t they?!

Had this guy breathing all heavy on the line, so I shot back with the same energy, then they just cut the call.

I've been receiving calls from this number two or three times daily, usually around the middle of the afternoon or early evening, for quite a few weeks now. It seems to hang up as soon as it reaches my answering machine. I've attempted to return the call to put an end to it, but the line is always dead. It's quite frustrating! Comment dated 20/04/16

Got a missed call on our landline yesterday, but no voicemail or anything. I usually don't bother calling back numbers I don't know. Pretty happy I stuck to that this time. Cheers to everyone for the helpful info!

They actually knew my name and claimed to be from the TPS, asking if I was still getting annoying calls. I told them yes, but it was just from their side and then they just hung up on me.

Some bloke with an Indian accent who said his name was Justin called me saying he was from the TPS. He asked if I was still getting loads of nuisance calls. Then he mentioned something about upgrading my call blocking service, asked me to confirm my address, and then suddenly started asking for my card's expiry date. When I told him the date he guessed was wrong, he pushed me for the correct one, but I said I’m not giving out card details over the phone. He kept insisting he was legit, but I just ended the call.

I recently received a phone call from a chap with an Asian accent claiming to represent a telephone preference service, suggesting that my registration had expired. Initially, he appeared convincing, stating he was calling from DMS House in London. However, when he requested my Visa card details, alarm bells went off in my head, and I promptly told him I suspected he was up to no good before ending the call. Despite him having some accurate information about my address and phone number, he also misrepresented a few details, which raised my suspicions considerably!

02030558423 is a total scam. They claimed to be from the TPS, asking if we’re still getting annoying calls. I said, “like this one?” and they couldn’t prove they were legit, then just hung up. It’s sad how hearing an Asian accent makes people suspicious these days, and sadly, with good reason. They mostly go after older folks or those who trust too easily. It must make them a lot of money since there’s so many doing this! They might even be using stolen mobiles to rack up charges on innocent people’s accounts.

Got a call from a bloke with a strong Asian accent who asked for me by name and said he was from the Telephone Preference Service. I acted like he’d called the wrong number and ended the call. Something about it felt off - his English was really shaky and his accent was hard to follow. It was quite unsettling since I’d recently filed a complaint with the TPS and was waiting to hear back from them.

Some bloke from India, called himself a telephone specialist or something, asked if I've been getting annoying calls. I said yeah, him, and then he just hung up on me.

Some bloke with an Indian accent said his name was 'Justin' (which seemed a bit odd). I initially thought it might be that usual 'Microsoft' scam again, but he just asked if I was still bothered by spam calls. Strangely, he didn’t follow up with anything else and just told me I wouldn’t get any more nuisance calls. Then he hung up, leaving me scratching my head about what that was all about.

This number called me three times today, and I picked up just in case it was important. It was an Indian bloke saying he was from TPS, already knew my name and address, and mentioned I pay my phone bills by direct debit. Then he started asking for my card details. I ended the call straight away.

Got a call from a man who sounded Indian claiming to be from the telephone preference service. My husband spotted it was dodgy right away but decided to humour him. He told the guy we were already signed up with TPS. After a bit, the bloke came clean and said it wasn’t the real TPS and then just ended the call.

Rang up asking to speak to Mr. Watford. Told ’em Watford’s a place, not a person, then they just ended the call. Voice sounded Asian and really hard to catch what they were saying, definitely not someone from the UK or used to proper call centre work.

In the span of just 48 hours, I received two calls from women claiming to be 'Jenny' and 'Amber', both with Indian accents, purporting to be representatives of the Telephone Preference Service. I informed them quite clearly that I wasn’t interested, as I thought the whole premise of the TPS was to prevent unsolicited calls in the first place! It’s a rather puzzling situation, considering they shouldn’t be reaching out to folks at all!

I encountered a similar situation today, much like what others have described. When the caller requested my card details, I was taken aback and asked for their reasoning. They claimed it was necessary to verify the card I had supposedly used to sign up, which baffled me as I had no recollection of doing so. I tactfully told him I was preoccupied and suggested he try again another day. I intend to cross-check this through the TPS website, and he’s apparently meant to ring me back tomorrow evening. I’ve now got a plan for how to respond when he does.

An Indian bloke called my elderly mum claiming he'd stop all her annoying calls but asked for her bank card details. She didn’t give him anything and hung up, but he rang straight back. I told Virgin about it, they said they're aware but can't really help, even though I gave them the number. Mum said the calls come from overseas, but this site shows it’s a London landline. So why can’t they trace these fraudsters? Don’t trust them, it’s definitely a scam.

I experienced something quite similar; when I raised my voice during a call, they promptly ended the conversation. An hour later, they rang me back, only to repeat the aggressive shouting. He inquired whether I was still receiving nuisance calls, to which I replied in the affirmative. He then assured me that all such calls would cease by the next day. Quite alarmingly, he recited my name, full address, and postcode, before probing whether I settled my phone bill via direct debit. At that juncture, I firmly stated, "I never divulge payment information over the phone," and to his credit, he wrapped up the conversation quite courteously!
