Guys, just dive into your phone settings - most mobiles let you block specific numbers anyway. Here’s a real thing that happened to me, which I still use today. I was working from home and got a call, typical hassle. As soon as I said, “Hold on a sec, you’ve just called a Ministry of Defence line. I need your full name, DOB, and address right now,” they never called again. Simple as that!

Got a call at about 10:37, but the background was really noisy. The person sounded like they were speaking a different language, couldn’t make out much. It came across like they were in some big busy office with all the noise going on. They couldn’t even say my name right. Ended up just hanging up!

This number keeps ringing me non-stop and I’m really sick of it now. Today the caller claimed to be from Vodafone, saying I’d done an online survey where I asked them to get in touch. I told her I never asked for any calls and that my number’s on the TPS register. She suggested maybe a family member did it, but just kept pushing her script even when I interrupted. I eventually hung up, but I doubt it’ll stop them. This same number has also pretended to be from the government, Microsoft, and some eco company trying to sell a boiler. A while back, Three Mobile got hacked and I received a letter explaining that my full info - everything from phone numbers to bank details - had been stolen. Since then, these annoying calls have been relentless and it’s been a real nightmare.

Got a call from this number around midday today about a phone service. They said they were from EE and even knew my last name. Once I mentioned I don’t actually use a mobile, they just ended the call.

No idea where they’re pulling their info from but they use a few different names. I just tell them no one with that name lives here and then end the call. They sneakily ring back after a bit but I just ignore it. The voice sounded like it was from a call centre in India. Loved the suggestion from the 16th Feb comment about speaking another language, might give that a go when they call again.

Got a call today from 02030020599 telling me I’d won a prize. Since I sometimes enter contests, I wondered if it was legit as they had some accurate info. Didn’t give them any bank or private info though, as it felt dodgy so I looked it up online. I was worried I might’ve been billed, even though it was on my landline, so I rang BT. They assured me there were no charges, but yeah, this number seems like a scam. Put number ID on my phone now and I’m just ignoring it. Not worth the trouble for a prize like that.

I got a couple of calls today from this number, with someone pretending to be from Vodafone. The guy knew my name and said because I’d been a customer for years, I could upgrade my phone way early - like 14 months ahead of schedule. But then he started asking for my bank info, which seemed odd since Vodafone already have that on file. His accent sounded Pakistani and he was quite pushy about it. When I said I was worried it might be a scam, he even offered to put me through to his manager to prove it was legit, but I didn’t fall for it. I called Vodafone straight away, and they confirmed it was a scam. He also wanted to know about my online purchases on sites like eBay and Amazon. Sadly, I shared my name and address and some other details, but at least I didn’t hand over my bank info. He was trying to do a credit check or something. Just a heads up to watch out! - Ann

If you happen to receive a call or multiple calls from 02030020599, it’s probably a scammer, so just don’t pick up. They’ll stop bothering you after a while. If you accidentally answer, it could end up costing you. Blocking the number is a good idea too.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Vodafone, sounded like a dodgy chinese bloke with a weird american accent. He offered me a contract and said they'd deliver it the next day. Then he started asking for my account number, sort code and even my card details! Turns out these muppets are linked to something called amazeloans and debtcompare, dodgy sites if you ask me. They're pulling all sorts of scams to trick folks outta their money. Be careful out there!

When I asked where they got my number from, and if I could finish what I was saying, the person on the other end got really rude and just cut me off.
