I guess they figure most folks don’t really understand how computers or the internet function, so this trick might work on them. Luckily for me, I know a bit about this stuff, so I wasn’t fooled. She claimed to be from Microsoft and said there was ‘suspicious activity’ on my IP address. She even asked for my name to confirm it. When I told her I didn’t recognise the name she mentioned, which must’ve been tied to my landline, she just cut me off.
