The same number rang me four times, insisting I switch on my laptop. When I mentioned I was with Virgin, she insisted that it was irrelevant since everything was supposedly handled by BT. I asked for her contact number so I could return the call, but instead, she hung up and then proceeded to ring me another four times. Quite the persistence!

I got a call today from someone saying they were from BT, warning me that my internet would be off for a couple of months due to some dodgy activity on my account. Thought it sounded fishy but played along for a bit. The woman, who said her name was "Kelly Smith" but had a strong Asian accent, tried to get me to open a program by pressing the Windows key and R, which she said she’d help me with. I just stopped responding and eventually she hung up. Honestly, if anyone asks you to do that, don’t do it!

Like many others on this forum, we’ve been bombarded by this number all week. Occasionally we pick up, only to find the line goes dead, while other times we let it ring. Today, however, I decided to answer, and a lady of Asian descent claimed to be calling from BT, ominously announcing that our account would be suspended for a significant two months. When I sought clarification about the reason behind this disconnection-pointing out that we were running a business account, not a residential one-she abruptly hung up after I pressed her for more details and expressed my frustration. It’s worth noting that this same number seems to have been associated with a mishmash of so-called companies: BT, Microsoft, GiffGaff, Amazon, and Paypal, among others. So, do proceed with caution...

Absolutely, I've got SKY too and it’s driving me round the bend with this persistent number calling me. I’ve chosen not to pick up, yet they rang me a staggering 14 times this morning alone-9 of those in less than 60 minutes! I've had a word with SKY; I'm shelling out just over £4 a month and can block up to 10 different numbers, plus I can call it quits whenever I fancy. This number rang me earlier today. The bloke on the line spoke with such bad English, it was hard to catch what he was saying. He claimed there was a problem with my internet service. I think he said BT, but when I told him I'm not with BT, he just brushed it off like it didn't matter. Then he went on about cutting off my broadband for a couple of months.
