Some guy with an Asian accent called saying he was from the "City County Court of London". He told me there was a cheque for £3100 waiting to be sent. He asked my husband to call back, but the number he gave didn’t match the one he called from. He said to ask for someone named Mark. When I mentioned I suspected it was a scam, he insisted they were part of a government department.

Seriously, don’t fall for it. These car crash calls are just the same bunch of scammers pretending to offer hearing loss payouts for old factory jobs. The whole thing is just to trick you into paying for appointments where supposedly they’ll sort out the insurance claims. Truth is, you probably don’t even qualify and they couldn’t care less since they make money just by selling you those appointments legally.

Got a call today from a guy who claimed to be from the council, said he'd been told by the NHS that I'd been in an accident. I told him no, twice, and he kept asking if I was sure. Then he brought up my husband and asked again if I was certain. I just ended the call right there.

Today was different though; someone actually spoke to me with a foreign accent. I asked where they were calling from, but couldn’t catch what they said, so I asked again and they said the UK. They mentioned that if I answered four questions, they’d remove me from their list. I ended up being a bit blunt and told them not to call again. Got a call from a guy with a strong Indian accent saying that someone linked to my phone number had an accident sometime in the past 3 years. I asked him what the fuss was about and demanded to know who exactly he was talking about and when the accident happened. Then he just hung up on me. I'm on the TPS list too, which makes it even more frustrating. Honestly, no surprise there are millions falling for scams in the UK every year. Then a person with an Asian accent claimed to be from Brighton Council and said they were from the NHS about a car crash I supposedly had. I told him I don’t live in the Brighton Council area and that I’m registered with TPS. When I asked where he got my number from, he just hung up on me. Proper rude that.

Some bloke called 'Jason Taylor' claiming he was from the Somerset County Council's Legal Department, saying someone linked to my number had been in some kind of accident. When I asked for more info, he gave me a number to ring - 01823282251 x121 - supposedly to get in touch with the department. But when I looked up that number, loads of people flagged it as suspicious too, so it's obviously a con. Watch out for this one!
