Got a robo call today saying I owe money to HMRC and there's a legal case against me. This scam is real nasty and seems to be picking on older folks. Be careful!

Got a voicemail from 2020 0888 0974, some bloke using a dodgy American accent claiming HMRC had slapped a lawsuit on me. I phoned back and ended up chatting for ages with someone who somehow knew my home address and my email. Bit creepy if you ask me. They did get my email wrong, though, which made me call their bluff. I kept the convo going and they quickly hung up - probably wanted to move on to trick someone less suspicious than me.

I got a voicemail from someone claiming to be from HMRC threatening legal action against me. The person had a foreign accent and kept saying “do not ignore this message” in a really harsh way. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.

Got a call from someone who said he was Kevin Barker from HMRC. He told me I had a warrant for my arrest because of unpaid taxes. When I tried ringing back to check if he was really from HMRC, he just cut me off. Definitely a scam.

These HMRC callers, probably scammers, seem to have a mad way of getting hold of providers’ numbers. It’s like some dodgy network among them - feels proper suspicious to me. Can't believe how they manage to get this info.

Got a call from some American bloke with a recorded message saying I had to ring them back about a lawsuit from HMRC. Total scam, obviously.

Got a call from what sounded like HMRC but it was definitely a scam. Some robot voice with a foreign accent told me there’s a lawsuit against me and to ring back or have my lawyer do it. Honestly, it was so scary, like we’d been invaded or something and were supposed to surrender. Actually made me feel uneasy, not just because it’s obviously fake but cos it said it was from HMRC. I bet it could fool people who aren’t as careful.

Got a call from someone with a strong foreign accent saying they were from some 'HR department' and telling me I needed to ring them back immediately because apparently there’s been a lawsuit filed against me! Total rubbish if you ask me.
