11 yearsThis bloke called me and went on for like 15 minutes, already knowing my name and where I live. He wanted me to mess about on the computer, but when I told him he'd probably wrecked it (didn't really), he said he’d sort me out with a new one. So, I just gave him the address of the local police station and he hung up straight away.11 yearsGot a call from this number, and the person on the other end knew my first name, telling me my Windows PC had some malware or adware issues. He was trying to guide me through a few steps to ‘fix’ it, making me open start > run > event viewer, but I got bored pretty quick and just ended the call. Pretty sure it was some scammy nonsense, although I didn’t stick around long enough to figure out exactly what their angle was. Throughout, he kept asking me to confirm what button I was pressing next, like “bottom left key is control, what’s the next one along?” - probably to prove I was following. Luckily, I know my keyboard inside out, so I could easily fake it. He had a thick Indian accent, and this was the second time in a month I’ve had this same spiel from him.11 years"Looks like I've been hit with a dodgy pop-up claiming my computer's got a major Windows malfunction. Sounds like a classic scam to me!"Submit Your Own Report (020 0885 7653)
