It looks like 0200 numbers are getting increasingly used by scammers looking to catch people out. I really wonder why phone companies let their networks be used for this kind of dodgy activity. I got a call from this number and it began with a pretty scary voice message trying to make me pick up. It was an unexpected scam, some bloke with an Indian accent pretending to be from HMRC Customs, claiming I was involved in tax evasion and that a case was already opened against me. He claimed I owed almost 800 quid. I checked online and found out it’s a total scam luckily, so I just hung up.

Got a call from 02078144718 claiming to be HMRC, with a recorded message telling me there’s an arrest warrant out for me because of tax fraud. It’s a really scary and upsetting scam. This is the third different scam call I’ve had in just a few days. I don’t understand why phone companies and the government aren’t doing more to block this rubbish, especially when people are already struggling so much right now.

Same here. Yesterday I got a call from 02034011754 (London). A guy with an Indian or Pakistani accent claimed he was calling from HMRC and said I'm being looked into for tax fraud. He told me I owe them £1,900 and tried to pressure me into paying £900 so they could provide a lawyer for my court case, saying if I’m found innocent, I’d get the money back.

020 0200 3851 C left a recorded message on my voicemail claiming I was involved in tax fraud and that a warrant would be issued unless I responded. I took a screenshot of the call and then ended the call straight away.

This 0200 number has been ringing at the same time every day for the last 5 working days. I’ve got my phone connected to my computer to record all calls. If they want to get hold of me, they’d leave a callback number. But this 0200 number never does, so I don’t trust it. The police told us, after a card scam hit someone close, that all 0200 numbers are dodgy and best to avoid them because it could end badly. We’ve also got emails that seem just as suspicious. So if it feels off or fishy, just block it and be safe.

Received a trio of rings from the number 0200 in under half a minute. Each time I picked up, the caller disconnected straight away. Quite peculiar, really!
