This number seems a bit dodgy to me. My advice is just don't pick up or reply. Just leave it ringing and hang up once it stops itself. That way, they won’t be able to tell if your number’s real or not. You could try blocking the number, or better yet, delete it. 019838822254 called me a few days ago and I just let it go to voicemail, but they ended up hanging up without leaving anything. Then today, 01983882144 did the same thing - I didn't pick up and they just cut off. Weird how they ring and then hang up like that.

Yesterday morning I got a call sayin I had a PPI claim for £3,000 something, but they said it was only valid if I signed up for some life insurance. It sounded fishy and they even tried to get my bank details like my sort code and account number. Watch out folks, the number started with 0198.

I got a message saying that my landline, including internet and phone, will be cut off in a week because the NBN is available now in my neighbourhood. It told me to press 1 for more info. I didn’t press it myself, but my grandson did and talked to a bloke on the other end. When he started giving him a bit of a telling off, the guy just hung up.

I've been getting calls a lot from 0198### 52######66 lately, just don't bother answering and put the phone down straight away.

I’m based in Perth, Western Australia, and starting from around 7ish last night, I kept getting calls from an 0198 number on my home phone (it was 0198 ### ###). By about 9pm, there’d been at least 5 calls, none of which I picked up. So I just unplugged my landline to get some peace. This morning, when I plugged it back in at roughly 7am, that same number called me another 4 times before 9am, and again, I didn’t answer. I rang my phone company about it, but they said the calls are coming from overseas, and unfortunately they couldn’t block the number. Their suggestion? Just change my landline number altogether. I also signed up for the Do Not Call register here in Australia, but they said it takes several days to kick in. So basically, I’m stuck getting these calls for now with little choice but to ignore them, leave my phone off the hook, or go through the hassle of changing my number. Lovely options to have!

this morning we answered a call from a number starting with 0198. the woman on the line spoke to both me and someone else with me, but honestly, we couldn’t make out what she was saying. she said she was calling from BT, but it didn’t really add up. she kept saying there was some issue with my computer or something like that. in the end, it was no use, so we just had to put the phone down. sorry if we wasted anyone’s time, but we’re based in the UK.
