Got a call from someone named Alice claiming to be from Amazon. You could hear loads of noise in the background, so it was clear it was one of those call centres. Pretty sure she wasn’t even in this country. I just listened for a bit and then ended the call.

Some bloke claimed he was from HMRC, saying I owed money because of unpaid taxes. When I asked him for my name, he suddenly refused to say it. I told him right away he was pulling a scam and he just ended the call.

When I tried get back ring to the number that called me, it just didn’t go through! Wonder if it was some sort of scam or just a dodgy call? Really strange.

Got a call from someone named David, spoke with an Indian accent. The number was from the Strathpeffer area, up in the Scottish Highlands near Inverness. He told me there was a £799 charge on my Amazon account and asked if I wanted to cancel it. He even had my name and mobile number and claimed to have all my account info. I can’t imagine Amazon’s got an office in Strathpeffer, and I’m pretty sure if I tried calling back, it wouldn’t go through. Definitely a scam - watch out for this kind of thing, it’s risky.
