I had a rather peculiar phone call earlier from someone claiming to represent Three Mobile, insisting that I was eligible for a 30% reduction on my current contract. Absolute balderdash! How on earth could that even be conceivable when I'm not a customer of Three in the first place?

just a heads up, if youve recieved a call from +441997617183 its most likely one of those scam calls. they usually tell you to text 7726 from your phone, which is supposed to be your network. then they want you to send the number that called you, like +441997617183, so they claim they can track or look into it. but honestly, its all dodgy and part of a fraud scheme. stay careful!

The number shows up as Strathpeffer in Scotland, but it’s actually a scammer calling from India. They’ve basically stolen the number. Don’t bother trying to get them on the phone - they won’t pick up. Definitely report these phishing calls to Action Fraud at actionfraud.police.uk.

I picked up the phone but no one talked, then they just ended the call. Seems like it's some kind of automated thing that only links you to either a scammer or a sales call if you say something.

Got a call from a fella with an Asian accent claiming he worked for Three and said I could get a 30% discount. I told him if I do qualify then sure, go ahead and add it to my plan, but not to bother ringing me up again πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I always let calls go to voicemail since I don't recognise most numbers, probably just some scam. Luckily, my phone’s call blocking sorts them out, and they just get my answering machine instead.

Marked the call as spam straight away, felt dodgy. Took a quick look here and saw loads of warnings too, so I'm definitely blocking it for good. Cheers for having this site, really helpful!

I usually don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers, but I looked it up here and it turns out it’s probably just a scam like I thought.

Just looked up this number again and wow, over 500 folks have checked it out in the past hour alone. These scam artists are really pushing hard. Be careful and don’t let yourself fall for their tricks!

Absolutely a scam, claiming to sort out PPI compensation from your bank, saying they’d managed to get £2550 compensation plus £1550 interest. When I mentioned my bank was “Paris Bank” (which isn’t real), they couldn’t verify it. They still gave me some sort of reference and ID number, insisting they don’t need your bank or card info, and said the money went into a wallet thing? Then they switched me over to another bloke with an Asian accent who asked for those ID and ref numbers, but I gave him incorrect ones. Continued on below.

Looks like a scam again, something to do with bank fraud. If you get these, better report it to the police or email [email protected]. Stay safe out there!

I just got a call from this number. I picked up and said hello, but no one replied for a few seconds so I hung up straight away. My phone flagged it as possibly a scam, so I’d say don’t bother answering if it rings you.

Can't say for sure, but I didn’t pick up cause I thought it was just one of those telemarketers or some automated scam call.

It was dead silent, and I honestly didn’t know how to react.

I gave them a ring back but my phone just said the number wasn’t valid.
