Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from O2, said they’d cut my bill by 30% and offer a freebie. Told him I was busy at work and to ring later, but he kept banging on, so I hung up. Had a similar one before, this time a lady from India with the same spiel. They ask for your contract details and email - dodgy if you ask me. They never call back anyway.

I got a call from an Indian call centre saying they’d make artwork for my business. They’ll say whatever it takes to try and steal your info. Apparently, there’s a loophole in UK law that lets them sell UK phone numbers, which are then used in India to trick folks.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from ‘Amazon’ chatting about an iPhone. I had a sneaky feeling it was a con, but decided to humour them for about 10 mins. Then the lady asks if I even know what Amazon is. I said, ‘Honestly love, I’m 86 years old (which I’m not!), and I just assumed you were offering me a Granny Smith apple or something.’ Gotta fight back sometimes! Ended up blocking the number straight away!

When I picked up, there was no one on the other end, which was a bit odd. What really threw me off was that my son was in Strathpeffer, Scotland when the call showed up. It makes you think how on earth they managed to get hold of my number. I spoke to my son and he’s all good, no clue what this call was about.

Got a call from this number and place earlier today. The woman on the line had an Indian accent and claimed I’d ordered a new iPhone through Amazon, which she said was her company. Since I hadn’t actually made any recent purchases, I cut her off and said I suspected it was a scam before hanging up. She didn’t really protest. One thing to note is she said she worked for Amazon, not Currys like some others here have mentioned.
