Got a call from a number starting with 01995 earlier today, thought it was someone nearby. A man with a foreign accent claimed he was calling from BT about my broadband speed dropping. I asked why he was using a local area code if he was really from BT, but he just stayed silent. Then he asked if there were other devices on my internet and wanted me to check on my phone. I was pretty sure it was a scam so I said I'd call BT direct and hung up. Normally I don’t bother calling these numbers back, but this time I tried - surprise, surprise, no answer.
