3 yearsI've been receiving mysterious text messages from numbers I don't recognise, and I'm starting to think they're not genuine at all. It's a bit unsettling, to say the least!3 yearsI received a dodgy call from a rather dubious Indian call centre. They’re attempting to prompt one-time codes through text messages, mischievously coaxing you to divulge them for a supposed discount. ⚠️ DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY CODES. It’s evident they’re fishing for information gleaned from an old data breach, as they had a go at initiating account resets with O2 - but having switched my number to another provider ages ago, their ploy fell flat. Rather amusingly, when that failed, they simply hung up, clearly mortified!3 yearsAbout five minutes back, got a call from someone claiming to be with O2. At first, he said he could give me 20% off my current plan, but when I asked again, he bumped it up to 30%. I told him I’m not interested and never make deals over cold calls, then just ended the call.3 yearsI just got a brand new phone number and barely had it a few hours when I got a call from someone claiming to be “o2” trying to sell me some “fantastic offer” on a contract I’d signed up to just the day before.3 yearsDefinitely a total rip-off.3 yearsJust got a call from 01618841275 but I ended up blocking it and hanging up pretty quick. They said it was O2 offering some kind of deal or promotion. Definitely felt dodgy, like a scam to me.3 yearsNo idea who this number belongs to.3 yearsSome guy rang me up saying he was from EE and could knock 20% off my bills. He wanted me to tell him how much I normally spend with EE each month to 'verify' me. I asked if he could email me the info first, but he said he can't unless I give him the monthly amount. When I kept asking for the email instead, he just hung up on me. Bit dodgy if you ask me.EE3 yearsI know St Clears well and it’s a nice place in Wales. Nobody there speaks like that at all, so it’s definitely another scam from abroad. Why doesn’t OFCOM take action against these people? They should be caught, fined, and locked up - or even better, chucked in the sea!St ClearsWalesOFCOMDavy Jones3 yearsGot a dodgy call from some sketchy call centre in India. They were fishing for one-time codes sent to my phone, saying it was needed to get a special discount. ⚠️ NEVER give out any codes like that. It’s obvious they’ve got hold of my details from some old data leak. They even tried to reset my O2 account, but I switched to a different network ages ago. When that didn’t work, they just awkwardly ended the call.India3 yearsGot a call from someone speaking Chinese claiming to be UPS with a package for me. The weird thing is I havent ordered anything and ive just got this number, so best not to pick up if they ring you. The lady sounded Indian. Seriously, don’t give out any codes to these people! Just ignore and hang up, it’s clearly a scam. I’m onto their tricks now.3 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be with 3, saying it was about an offer from Curry’s where I could get 40% off. Then they started asking me what phone I use and before I knew it, they just hung up on me. Pretty weird!Curry3 yearsGot a call from some spammer today, totally annoying.3 yearsGot a call from some bloke at an Indian call centre pretending he worked for O2. He quickly launched into the usual chat about giving me a 40% discount if I just sent back a code they were gonna text me. Total scam, no way was I falling for that.3 yearsIt was really hard to make out what they were saying, but at one point they mentioned being from EE and tried to pitch me a 40% discount. I’m actually with iD, so that deal wouldn’t have done me any good anyway. The minute I heard "discount," I just ended the call.EEiD3 yearsAn unknown number just rang me, but the caller didn’t say who they were. I attempted to return the call only to be informed that it was a wrong number. A quick search on Google revealed that it belongs to St Clare, and apparently, they’re up to no good, masquerading as EE to fish for personal details and potentially access my bank account. I've now blocked the number and will be reporting them forthwith.GoogleSt ClareEE3 yearsGot a call from a lady with an Indian accent who said she was from Currys PC World.
