I reckon everyone should use this site to check numbers if you get calls from unfamiliar or even local numbers. Don’t just pick up straight away - have a quick look here first to see if it’s a scam. If it is, block the number before they can ring again. This one was definitely dodgy and I’ve blocked it now. Folks, stay safe and never share your bank details with anyone who calls you out of the blue.

Got a really annoying call trying to sell me life insurance. They acted like they already knew about my policy and chatted between themselves like, “This lovely lady wants to up her life insurance.” Then they asked for my sort code and account number, claiming they’d cancel your old policy automatically. They just wouldn’t stop chatting. Kept saying stuff like, “I get if you think this is a scam but trust me, I won’t ask for the full card number or the security digits, just your account number.” Definitely don't hand over your details to these lot. Total cold call harassment.

I thought at first it was a genuine person on the line, but it turned out to be one of those robocalls using a script with set questions. I only hung about for a bit, and from what I caught, it was about loft insulation or something similar. Definitely felt like a con though.
