I got a call from a number with my town's area code, so I picked up thinking it might be legit. The recorded voice, with a strange accent, claimed to be from my bank and said there was suspicious spending on my card - £300 on Amazon and £1000 abroad. They told me to press 1 or 3 if I hadn’t made those purchases (which I actually do, especially on Amazon). I just hung up straight away, felt dodgy from the start.
