I wasn’t sure who was calling since the number was unfamiliar, but because I've been getting quite a few legit calls from unknown numbers lately, I decided to pick up. I said hello, but no one responded, and then after a brief silence the call dropped. Reading through other people's experiences with this same number, I guess I got off lightly not having to deal with someone on the other end. Like others have pointed out, just blocking certain numbers doesn’t fix anything. The telecom companies seriously need to get a grip on this ongoing issue.

Everytime my landline rings nowadays it's some kind of scam, so I've started keeping a whistle next to the phone. When it calls, I just blow into the handset as loud as I can before hanging up. Did it again today and straight after, got another call from the same number. The person on the other end was really rude, sounded asian, so they got blasted with the whistle too. After that, I saw three more calls came from that number but I didn’t pick up.

Got a call on my home phone from this number, and it’s mostly just scammers that bother me there now. The person on the other end didn’t say a word, just breathed heavily for around half a minute before cutting off. So I guess the answer to a weird question no one wants to ask is that a scammer’s silence lasts about 30 seconds before they hang up.

Got one of those typical Microsoft scams from some Indian caller again. Told them off pretty rude-like and hung up sharpish. Now I’m just letting the answerphone deal with all these pesky calls.

These callers keep ringing older folks and start yelling at them just because they don't feel like chatting. It's really upsetting to hear people get treated like that!

No clue who it was. When I asked, he just answered by asking how I was. I tried asking again, but then he just wanted to know if I’d listen to him. I asked straight up what he was selling, then I hung up. All this at 8 in the morning. These calls are really unwanted.

Got a call that was just dead silence, then they hung up. Proper waste of my time that was.

Once more, it was that dull Microsoft scam, same old Indian or Pakistani accent. I told her off pretty rudely to go away, then hung up. Not long after, she called back and rudely told me to be quiet and listen. They just don’t get it - I don’t want anything to do with them. Five calls came through from different numbers afterwards. Guess I ruffled some feathers. Absolutely shameless lot!

I got a call earlier today on 17/02/22 at 7:48am from a lady with a foreign accent. She was warning me about some scam attempts targeting our Microsoft account. Thing is, we don't even use Microsoft, so it was pretty clear it was a scam trying to trick me.

Got a call with no internet connection mentioned, feels like a complete scam to me. Reporting it on behalf of an elderly person and have blocked the number already. They've phoned twice now. Never share any info with them, seriously, not a single bit. Left a message but who knows if they even bother hearing it.

Bit unsettling really, they knew both where I live and my name.

Got a call bright and early at 7 am from someone claiming to be Microsoft Tech Support. They said there was an issue with our computer, even mentioned our licence number, saying it was compromised. They tried to get me to log into my computer, but as soon as I told them I’d flagged their number as spam, they just ended the call. Quite suspicious!

I received a phone call that claimed to be from Microsoft, stating that my device had been compromised. This lady had previously sent me a message which I hadn't acknowledged. When I probed about how this message was conveyed, she insisted that I should power up my computer for her to demonstrate. I inquired if she was familiar with the saying, "What’s done in the dark will come to light", but it seemed that was beyond her comprehension. She was rather reluctant to veer off topic and just kept urging me to switch on my device. When I mentioned that she might benefit from reading the Bible-God’s guidance to humanity-she began to get a bit agitated, insisting more forcefully that I should turn on my computer. At that point, I decided it was best to hang up.

I got a call at 7:06am today, but since I’ve added all numbers starting with 019 to my block list, the phone didn’t even ring. I usually block the first three digits of an area code because I don’t know anyone from places like London, Swansea, or Dundee, so it’s easier than trying to block each new number, they always switch up the last few digits. I’ve also got codes like 004, 012, 020, 013, and 014 blocked too. It definitely cuts down on unwanted calls.

This morning at around 7:35 a bloke with what sounded like an Indian or Asian accent called, saying he was from "Microsoft". He seemed to know exactly what time it was here in the UK! He asked for me by my real name and wanted me to say it was actually me on the line.

This number called me quite a few times but I never picked up. They never left a voicemail either, so I’m guessing it’s some sort of telemarketer or cold caller. It’s pretty frustrating not knowing who it actually is.

I received a call from a lady named Amanda claiming to be from Microsoft regarding our computer or laptop. She seemed a bit flustered when she realised that we don’t actually own either device, which made her pause for a moment. Not wanting to waste any more time, I decided to end the conversation then and there. Seems like some folks are capable of bending the truth!
