A recorded female voice was claiming to be from ‘Security’, insisting that I had made a payment of £300 to Amazon and that my account had been debited £1100 for an international transfer. I promptly ended the call. Then, mere twenty minutes later, I was contacted again, this time from 01993216017, with precisely the same spiel, and once more, I hung up. It's truly appalling that these scammers can manipulate any number they desire and operate with such impunity!
