I received a rather distressing phone call from a chap with a strong Indian accent, and the background noise suggested he was in a busy environment, likely a call centre. He claimed to be representing HMRC regarding some outstanding tax payments. The conversation took a rather unpleasant turn as he became increasingly hostile, even going so far as to threaten me with the possibility of a warrant being issued if I failed to respond to their calls.

I got a recorded call supposedly from HMRC, saying there’s a tax fraud issue linked to me. It told me to press 1 to speak with them about it, but I’m pretty sure it was just some scammer trying to trick me.
