What a nuisance! Ever since we provided our home phone number to the NHS Track and Trace service, we’ve been inundated with calls from a myriad of different numbers. It’s clearly a case of spammers and scammers trying their luck. Just can't seem to catch a break!

I received a call from this number, but since no one was identified, I decided to remove it from my contacts. Lately, I've been getting a string of peculiar calls too, including some from a 0770 mobile number, along with other strange digits. To top it off, the voicemail I received was in Chinese! I've now made it a point not to pick up unless I recognise the caller.

The system they utilise pauses for you to respond, after which you're faced with a barrage of issues or choices, like pressing 1 for this or that. If you don’t utter a word when you pick up, the call will simply disconnect on its own in about ten seconds.

At about 11:02 this morning, I got a call from 01990 670705. All I could catch was some voice telling me to press a button, so naturally I pressed it.

I just received a recorded message claiming that my national insurance number had been suspended by the government. Naturally, I hung up and promptly blocked the number. I've come across warnings about not calling this number previously, so I trusted my instincts and avoided any further contact.

Received a call from my broadband supplier claiming they were cutting off my service due to some supposed unlawful activity. They prompted me to press 1 to connect with an ‘executive’. I hung up instead. I contacted EE directly, and they confirmed that everything’s perfectly fine with my account. This is definitely a scam. Pressing #1 leads to a £10 charge!

I received a recorded message from BT stating they would be disconnecting both my phone line and Internet today. I promptly ended the call.

Got a rather unsettling recorded message from 01990 393158, warning me that BT would cut off my phone and internet unless I pressed 1. This has happened to me not once, but twice today! I attempted to ring the number back, only to discover it was an unfamiliar number. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

Got a call from someone saying they were from Visa. They told me to press any key if I wanted to talk to someone, felt a bit dodgy to me.

01990 661279 keeps calling me and its defo a scam. On the same day, other numbers called me and left an identical voicemail about my internet and landline getting cut off. If you’re with BT, just call 1572 and choose option 1 to block them. Heard this is the best way to stop all these annoying calls.

I received a message saying they'd be disconnecting my phone and internet today and instructed me to press one for assistance. I decided to hang up instead.
