Some woman named “Amy” rang me claiming to be from a washing machine insurance firm. She said since we hadn't claimed anything in the past year, we could get cheaper coverage now. When I asked her for the model details of our machine, she kept going round in circles and couldn’t give a straight answer. Then, when I requested the company's name, she just babbled nonsense and suddenly cut off the call. Feels like it was probably a scam in the making.

I got a call from the firm that covers my washing machine. They offered me a deal - two years insurance for the price of one. They said someone would call back and use a password to verify, and I was meant to give them the first digits of my bank card. I told them there’s no way I’d do that. Then they asked why it was any different from shopping online. They claimed they wouldn’t need the full card number or the security code. Still, I wasn’t comfortable handing over anything since I didn’t make the initial call. The guy got annoyed when I refused and said I’d missed out on the deal, then just hung up on me.
