Someone rang from this number saying there was an issue with our internet. My husband hung up straight away cos he knew it was dodgy.

I've encountered this rather irritable chap from India on a few occasions. Earlier today, he got quite aggressive, and it sounded like he had our conversation on loudspeaker for the entertainment of his colleagues in the call centre. Kudos for passing the call over to BT; I wish I had the savvy to do that myself. It's a shame BT hasn’t managed to shut down those operations yet.

Had the exact same issue - total scam. When he told me to switch on my computer, I asked how to do it and what the round thing with a cable on my desk was. He said it was a mouse, so I joked, "Should I get a mousetrap then?" I just kept messing about with this absolute muppet until he finally gave up and hung up after nearly 10 minutes. Felt so good to frustrate him like that :-)

Had a call this afternoon from someone saying they were with BT Internet. They claimed our internet had to be turned off for about a week because our computers were catching viruses every time we went on Twitter, Facebook, Amazon and the like. I didn’t bother listening any further - it was obvious a scam - and just hung up straightaway. The call came from 01985 74962.

Got a call from this number earlier today. Some bloke with an Indian accent claimed my PC was downloading stuff and told me to open my browser and enter some numbers.
