I recently received a call from these individuals, and lo and behold, I’ve been conned by a similar bunch in the past. This time, they were trying to peddle a club holiday membership, insisting I fork out £1,200 just to amend the name on our deeds. It’s just another crafty scheme to siphon off cash without any real service in return!

Two individuals have recently made contact with me; one went by the name of Michael Williams, while the other was Amanda Croft. The former claimed to be associated with the Isle of Wight, and the latter purported to hail from Bury in Manchester. The second person tried quite hard to persuade us that they represented a legitimate enterprise, providing a business telephone number and a few other trifling bits of information that turned out to be completely untraceable. Once we began questioning their credibility, they became rather defensive and attempted to deflect the blame onto my wife after we suggested they might be running a scam. We are planning to report this matter to Trading Standards.
