Spoke to me from 01978 508 545 at around 13:08 on 11th Sept 2020 claiming to be from my bank’s Visa Mastercard department about a £600 transfer abroad. They told me to press 1 to stop the transaction if it wasn’t me. Then I got another call the very next morning, 12th Sept, at 10:51 from 01269 554 454 with a similar story. Really worrying stuff! Luckily, I’ve heard about these scams so I just hung up straight away. But I worry that others, maybe less aware, could get caught out by this.
