01977 216995 Landline from Pontefract area code 01977. Reckon it's a dodgy line with heaps of searches - like 17,000 plus. They rang askin if I’d got solar panels fitted, I told em there’s no way they’d fit on my roof. Then, weirdly, they just dropped the call... probably a scam, so I blocked the number anyway.

Got a call from these scammers again, using this Pontefract number, trying to push me some dodgy renewable energy deal. Next time I think I’ll mess with them a bit, keep ‘em on the phone for ages and then say I’ve shifted into a council flat! Or even better, say I’ve moved to the Caribbean where it’s always warm and energy bills are tiny. That’ll show ‘em!

Picked up, they already knew my name, went on about solar panels, and I said no point as I’m renting and my landlord wouldn’t allow it. They still tried to get my info ‘just in case’ so I ended the call. Totally feels like a scam.

Honestly, these callers just need to sod off. Anyone working in call centres can be proper dodgy. I spent a few days working there and they really are scummy, always trying to con folks. Also, I reckon the best way is to mess with them - when they call, drag it out as long as possible and then just hang up.

Once again, got a call where they just hung up without saying anything. If they can’t be bothered to leave a proper message, then there’s no way I’m getting back to them. Honestly, if you don’t have the guts to say who you are and where you’re from, then you really shouldn’t be running a business at all. I ignored the call and they just ended it. Seems like these annoying calls keep reusing the same phone numbers. Seriously, we oughta all write to our MPs to push for a stop on these "redirected" calls. BT lease these numbers to little firms, and those in turn let these overseas callers use them. Virgin have told me in writing they don't lease out lines, so BT must know what's going on. OFCOM really needs to get a grip on this problem.
